The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on August 21, 2026, issued the Consultation paper on revision of the Advertisement Code for Online Bond Platform Providers (OBPPs).
The following has been stated:
• The proposal seeks to replace the existing Advertisement Code prescribed under Annexure XXI-C of Chapter XXI of the NCS Master Circular with a revised code specifically tailored to advertisements relating to products and services offered through OBPPs.
• The revised code is proposed to operate in addition to the Common Advertisement Code applicable to specified SEBI-regulated entities, thereby introducing additional requirements for OBPP advertisements.
• The objective is to ensure that advertisements disseminated by OBPPs are appropriately regulated and provide investors with relevant, fair and transparent information regarding fixed-income products and services.
• Comments on the Consultation paper may be sent by September 11, 2026.
